Is Halotherapy Safe For Everyone?
Dry Salt Therapy is suitable for infants as young as one month old, and children in fact respond to the treatment even quicker than adults. Regular sessions provide a protection from the infections found typically circulating in the play ground at school and generally out in public places. In addition, regular Salt Therapy exposes us to negative ions which have been studied and shown to naturally calm us, by attaching to agitating positive ions in the air. Calm, relaxed, healthy children are able to better focus in school and sleep better at night.
There are no known potentially harmful side effects or drug interactions however Halotherapy is NOT suitable for people with severe conditions such as the following and should consult a physician prior to adding Halotherapy to an existing treatment plan.
How Does Halotherapy Work?
Dry Salt when absorbed provides anti bacterial, anti inflammatory, anti viral and anti fungal properties. Microscopic salt particles when breathed in are able to get deep into the respiratory system. Once there the dry salt absorbs excess mucus, allergens, and foreign elements in the respiratory system opening up constricted airway and killing bacterial and viral infections. When pumped atmospherically it penetrates deep into the skin providing an anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory layer of protection while sinking into the pores for more individualized skin conditions.
What Should I Do During My Session?
Sit back, relax and breathe. Its a good time to enjoy the calm and peacefulness of the booth. You can use this time to meditate, reflect and relax while breathing deeply and enjoying the comfort and healing benefits of the dry salt.
Due to the salt particles in the air it is not recommended that you use or take mobile phones, tablets, laptops or other electronic devices into the booth. Use this session to unplug for just a few minutes! Using your electronic devices while in the booth is at your own risk, as fine salt particles may damage your devices.
If accompanying your child we do recommend to bring a book or toy to help keep your child occupied.
What Should I Wear & How Should I Prepare For My Session?
We recommend wearing loose comfortable clothing and avoid wearing jewelry. Very fine salt particles will land on your clothing during your session which can easily be brushed off at the end of your session. For the comfort of all clients using the booth please refrain from the use of perfumes, cologne, lotions and other scented products.
No food or drink is permitted in the halo booth so please have a snack or drink prior to your session if needed.
Bare foot is NOT accepted in the halo booth. We do provide slippers if needed during your session.
