The word Reiki means universal life-force energy, or spiritual energy. It is a Japanese healing system that promotes relaxation, stress relief, and works to holistically heal the mind, body and spirit. Reiki is for all, and one does not need to be spiritual or religious to receive it's amazing benefits. Reiki works to remove or balance out "blocked" or "stuck" energy that can be caused by emotional, spiritual, or physical upset. When these blocks are removed, the body is better able to heal itself, thereby releasing negative thoughts, feelings, and emotions that no longer serve you.

Our Chakra Balancing Massage is focused on helping clients’ overall health by realigning the energy sources, called chakras, throughout the body. These sources of energy have been an important part of Ayurveda, a method of healing that originated in India.  In Ayurveda, there are seven sources of energy that exist within a person’s body. Each source is responsible for maintaining and controlling a certain area of the body and in extension, a particular aspect of one’s life. For example, the first chakra is located at the base of the spine and is the foundation of a balanced life. Moving to a new place, shifting your career, or another major change could throw off the balance of this chakra. All seven chakras work together to help promote overall well-being.

The chakra system lives in the core of our being, encompassing the spine, tailbone, and crown of the head. The chakras must be open so that they can flow freely with one another. The energy that flows between all chakras is known as “kundalini.” The imbalance of one chakra can affect the others, which is why it’s so important that massage incorporates this aspect of healing.
